Role Description The Injection Molding Process Tech is a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Chicago Area, with some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as documentation and reporting. In this role, the Process Tech sets up and adjusts injection molding machines, optimizes process parameters, and monitors production to ensure parts meet specifications. Responsibilities include performing start-ups and shut-downs, troubleshooting process and equipment issues, and coordinating with production and quality teams to resolve defects and reduce scrap. The role also involves completing routine preventive maintenance on molding equipment, maintaining accurate process and production records, and supporting the implementation of new molds and materials. The Process Tech will assist in training operators and peers on best practices, safety procedures, and standardized work instructions.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for molding equipment, processes, and part quality issues.
  • Candidates should possess Quality Control skills, including inspection practices, use of measurement tools, and documentation of nonconformances.
  • Candidates should possess Process Engineering-related skills for optimizing cycle times, parameters, and material usage.
  • Candidates should possess Preventive Maintenance skills for routine servicing of machines, auxiliary equipment, and tooling.
  • Candidates should possess Training skills to guide operators and team members on safe, consistent, and efficient process methods.
  • Experience with injection molding machines, molds, and plastic materials in a production environment.
