Job description

Injection Molding Maintenance Specialist

Location: Mukwonago, WI

Compensation: $35.00 – $47.00 per hour (DOE)

Schedule: 3rd Shift | 2-2-3 | 6pm – 6am

Industry: Plastics Manufacturing

Requirement: Must have injection mold maintenance experience

A night in the life

As the plant winds down for the evening, you arrive ready to keep production running. You begin with a preventative walk-through, verifying temperatures, pressures, and cycle times on injection molding presses and checking auxiliary systems. A press signals a fault; you step in—lockout/tagout, disassemble and inspect key components, mic critical surfaces, replace worn bearings, align drives, and bring the cell back online. Mid-shift, you partner with a senior mechanic to plan a rebuild, review parts lists with your supervisor, and coordinate with a contractor about an upcoming equipment move. Before sunrise, you finish an alignment using precision instruments and document the corrective actions that kept throughput on target.

What you’ll do
  • Install, service, and modify injection molding presses and auxiliary production equipment under general supervision.
  • Troubleshoot operating issues; disassemble, inspect, and overhaul molding machine components to restore performance.
  • Fit and align precision mechanisms, bearings, and drives; lay out and install molding machines and related equipment.
  • Support major plant installs and expansions with contractors; fabricate or alter replacement parts as needed.
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify alignment and tolerances; escalate complex rebuilds for additional guidance.
What you bring
  • Proven injection molding maintenance background (required).
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with 24VDC through 480VAC three-phase systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair presses and auxiliary equipment.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, welders, lathes, and overhead cranes.
  • Strong fault-finding, root-cause, and problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
