Mold Technician


SEEK Careers/Staffing is currently hiring a Mold Technician for a growing manufacturing company in Baldwin, Wisconsin. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with injection molding experience who enjoy troubleshooting, process improvement, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

Pay: $24.00 – $32.00 per hour

Shift Differential: Night shifts receive an additional 10% shift premium.

Available Shifts

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 PM – 4:30 AM (+10% shift differential)
  • 3rd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 PM – 6:30 AM (+10% shift differential)


Position Summary

The Mold Technician is responsible for setting up, processing, and troubleshooting plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. This role ensures production efficiency, product quality, and adherence to established manufacturing procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Processing

  • Follow molding work instructions, prints, specifications, and shop orders.
  • Install and remove molds from injection molding machines.
  • Set up and process jobs to established master cycle parameters.
  • Configure and adjust auxiliary equipment and robotic systems.
  • Adjust machine settings including temperatures, injection pressures, and cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot molding and process-related issues such as flash, short shots, and quality defects.
  • Document process changes and production information within ERP systems.
  • Complete job changeovers and verify bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Maintain proper material and product containment procedures.
  • Utilize measuring equipment, hand tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes as needed.
  • Communicate tooling and equipment issues through established maintenance systems.

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain responsibility for product quality associated with machine setup and process parameters.
  • Perform visual quality inspections throughout production.
  • Communicate and document quality concerns with manufacturing personnel.
  • Conduct function checks and enter production data into company systems.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Material Handling & Packaging

  • Load materials and support material handling activities.
  • Clean and maintain loaders, dryers, grinders, and related equipment.
  • Assist with sorting, packaging, labeling, and documenting production output when needed.

Housekeeping & Safety

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area according to company standards.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data for decision-making.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.

Preferred

  • 2–5 years of plastic injection molding experience.
  • Experience with Delmiaworks (IQMS) or similar ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of process troubleshooting and quality improvement methods.

So, from Carol’s home, SEEK assignment employees were sent to serve the temporary needs of Ozaukee County business people. The business grew and was eventually incorporated in 1975. The Grafton office expanded from Carol’s home to several other buildings in town before finally settling in their current location on Opportunity Drive in Grafton in 1997. Currently, there are 19 total branch offices with 16 located throughout Wisconsin and a recent acquisition has expanded SEEK’s portfolio to 3 branch offices in the Twin Cities.
