Job description

Job Title: Injection Mold Maintenance Technician
Location: Libertyville, IL
Shift: M-F 8 am to 5 pm

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Injection Mold Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and uptime of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement to support safe, high-quality, and efficient production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in injection molding machines.

  • Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on molding and auxiliary equipment (thermolators, chillers, compressors).

  • Support mold setup, changeovers, and proper alignment.

  • Troubleshoot PLCs, servo systems, injection units, clamping systems, and temperature control units.

  • Maintain molds to ensure consistent product quality and yield.

  • Document maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred).

  • 3–10 years of injection molding maintenance experience.

  • Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mold maintenance.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

  • Experience with automation/robotics is a plus.
