Job description

Program Support Assistant

The Program Support Assistant will assists with the day to day administrative duties associated with the Caregiver Support Program to include the PCAFC and the Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS).

The incumbent assists with workload and other data-driven reports, assists with new staff onboarding process, serves as CSP timekeeper, performs various clerical duties such as reminder calls and mailing correspondence, assists with action items and the implementation of new processes, assists with program events such as National Caregiver Support Month, Annual CSP Summit, Resource Fair and the like.

Manager (PM) and performs the full range of clerical, business, and administrative duties that ensure efficient and effective PCAFC processes.

Handles numerous requests for information such as status of reports, suspense dates, etc. for matters requiring compliance and similar information on behalf of the CSP PM.

The PSA assists the team to ensure the secure transmission and receipt of documents needed to make eligibility, tier level, discharge, and appeal determinations for the PCAFC compliance with VHA privacy rules.

The CSP PSA assists with preparing meeting minutes, tracks Release of Information correspondence, and other duties as assigned.

Acts as timekeeper for CSP Staff, maintaining time and leave records as needed and directed by position supervisor.

Collects and categorizes all personnel workload and fiscal reports, as required by the program and as directed by position supervisor.

Requires knowledge of medical terminology and usages, (e.g., medicine, surgery, geriatrics, hospital terms, medical abstracts, nursing, social work, pharmacology, aging, and home health), spelling, grammar, abbreviations, composition, and the ability to determine and follow required formats for VA memos and reports.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday- Friday
