Job description

POSITION TITLE:  Hourly Cook, North Elementary

Job Overview:

  • Posting date, August 7, 2026, Vacancy is effective for the 2026 - 2027 school year
  • 4 + hours daily - Monday through Friday; Hours and times TBD based on need.
  • Details: The Midview Local Schools is seeking an enthusiastic and caring candidate to join our food services team.  The successful candidates must be able to follow complex instructions and recognize/correct errors independently.  He/She must be able to exhibit consistent, impartial and resourceful critical-thinking skills. The successful candidate demonstrates dependability/flexibility.  Reacts to interruptions and/or emerging priorities effectively. The successful candidate must embody high ethical standards/integrity.  Accepts personal responsibility for decisions/conduct.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma.  Work skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to provide a clear BCI/FBI background check free of convictions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work that includes lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Ability to prepare standardized recipes using commercial kitchen equipment.
  • An acceptable score on a pre-employment skill test may be required.
  • Successful completion of a board-approved sanitation/food safety course may be required.
  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
  • Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
  • Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
  • Participates in all state/district mandated training sessions.
