Job description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Concrete Foreman to lead a concrete crew and oversee daily operations on residential and/or commercial foundation projects throughout the Flathead Valley.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands concrete construction from start to finish, can read plans and layouts, manage a crew efficiently, and maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.


The Concrete Foreman will serve as the primary leader on the job site, coordinating employees, equipment, materials, schedules, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise concrete crews on daily job-site operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee all phases of concrete construction including site preparation, forming, grading, reinforcement, placing, and cleanup.
  • Read and understand plans, drawings, elevations, grades, and project specifications.
  • Ensure forms, reinforcement, grades, and layouts are installed accurately before concrete placement.
  • Coordinate concrete deliveries and communicate effectively with batch plants, pump operators, finishers, and other trades.
  • Direct the crew during concrete pours and ensure proper placement and finishing techniques.
  • Monitor job-site productivity and keep projects on schedule.
  • Inspect work for quality and ensure finished work meets company and project standards.
  • Train, coach, and develop laborers and other crew members.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure crew members understand expectations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards before they become problems.
  • Maintain and account for company tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, material needs, and schedule concerns with the Project Manager or Superintendent.
  • Complete required daily paperwork, production reports, and job documentation.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Perform hands-on concrete work when needed.
  • Assist with estimating, takeoffs, scheduling, and project planning when requested.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of concrete construction experience.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and elevations.
  • Experience with forms, grades, reinforcement.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a crew while maintaining productivity and quality.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Safety-conscious with a commitment to maintaining a safe job site.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing Montana weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, stand, and perform physical construction work throughout the day.
