The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive experience placing and finishing structural and architectural concrete. This position requires the ability to organize crews, coordinate equipment and concrete deliveries, maintain production, and ensure work is completed safely and according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Place and finish concrete, including properly hand-finishing concrete edges.
  • Correctly use floats, trowels, edgers, jointers, brooms, and other finishing tools.
  • Operate walk-behind power trowel machines and standard concrete-finishing equipment.
  • Place and finish floor slabs, sidewalks, stairs, equipment pads, and other concrete surfaces.
  • Accurately finish architectural concrete walls and exposed concrete surfaces.
  • Lay out and perform saw cutting, joint installation, and curing operations.
  • Read and understand project drawings, elevations, dimensions, and concrete specifications.
  • Plan slab placements following the project superintendent’s handoff and approved placement plan.
  • Measure concrete quantities and coordinate concrete orders and delivery schedules.
  • Determine manpower, tools, and equipment needed for concrete operations.
  • Direct and manage labor during concrete placement and finishing activities.
  • Coordinate with carpenters, ironworkers, laborers, pump operators, and concrete suppliers.
  • Inspect formwork, reinforcement, embeds, elevations, and placement areas before concrete placement.
  • Monitor concrete consistency, placement, consolidation, finishing, curing, and protection.
  • Identify and promptly communicate quality, safety, scheduling, or production concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, project requirements, and applicable OSHA regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • At least three years of concrete construction and finishing experience; lead-level experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising concrete placement and finishing crews.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete placement, consolidation, finishing, saw cutting, jointing, and curing.
  • Ability to finish slabs, sidewalks, stairs, pads, edges, and architectural concrete surfaces.
  • Ability to operate walk-behind power trowels and standard concrete-finishing equipment.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, elevations, and layout information.
  • Knowledge of concrete quantity calculations and placement planning.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Ability to meet Fort Stewart installation-access, background-screening, and badging requirements.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding construction work in outdoor conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACI Concrete Flatwork Finisher certification.
  • Experience on federal, military, heavy-civil, or other large-scale concrete projects.
  • Experience working on multi-story concrete construction.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills.

Compensation

  • $32.00-$40.00 per hour. (Based on experience and skill level)
  • Full-time project-based employment.
  • Project anticipated to continue through 2027.
