Are you an experienced heating professional who takes pride in keeping systems safe, reliable, and running at peak performance? Witham Family Hotels is seeking a skilled and licensed Heating Technician to join our Facilities team.

In this full-time, year-round role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our hotel properties and employee housing remain warm, efficient, and safe for guests and staff. Under the guidance of our Facilities Director, you'll manage everything from preventive maintenance to emergency repairs, working with both oil- and propane-fired systems in a variety of settings.

Position Details:
  • Schedule: Full-time, year-round

  • Hours: MondayFriday, with flexibility for emergencies and occasional weekend/evening work (approx. 45 hours/week)

  • Location: Travel required between multiple hotel and housing properties in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth

  • Pay: Competitive pay based on experience and licensing + benefits

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair oil- and propane-fired boilers, furnaces, and water heaters.

  • Provide final inspections of repaired systems to ensure safe and proper operation.

  • Perform quarterly, semi-annual, and annual preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Complete seasonal shutdowns and startups of equipment.

  • Respond to emergency heating calls, including nights and weekends.

  • Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and reports for the Facilities Director.

  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and local/state codes.

Requirements:
  • Licensed Heating Technician position available valid propane technician license required.

  • Prior heating technician experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of oil and propane heating systems, controls, and safety practices.

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Knowledge of wiring and plumbing required.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy equipment, and safely work at heights up to 50 feet.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
