Baltimore Country Club in Roland Park, MD is looking to hire an Assistant Pastry Chef to lead the pastry team in preparing delicious cakes, bread, cookies, and other great deserts for our loyal members and guests!
ABOUT BALTIMORE COUNTRY CLUB
Baltimore Country Club was founded in 1898 and it was a success from the start, with 600 members enjoying its 150-acre facility less than five miles from downtown Baltimore. Just one year after opening, the Club gained immediate recognition in the golf world by hosting the fifth United States Open Championship. Today the Club is nearly 3,300 members strong with two campuses. It is widely recognized as one of the top 50 country clubs in the nation and top 100 in the world. We are all about the simple truth and doing what is right not what is easy.
A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN ASSISTANT PASTRY CHEF
As the Assistant Pastry Chef, you will be creating lasting memories every day for our Members and Guests. Our culinary team prides itself on being able to produce a large variety of culinary items in house, including house made bacon, corned beef, barbeque sauce, apple butter and maple syrup to name a few! When it comes to the Pastry side of the kitchen, things are no different! The Pastry team produces a variety of petit fours, artisan breads, celebration cakes, and homemade ice cream, all with exciting flares that create lasting memories for our Members and Guests which in return make BCC a favorite place for all!
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a strong leader who is able to grow the department and pastry staff, take charge, and introduce new and exciting ideas! The ability to maintain an organized workspace by storing ingredients, cleaning the workspace, maintaining inventory, and informing the Purchasing Manager when items need to be ordered. Strong pastry experience including current pastry trends is required. This position also requires the ability to create banquet style desserts, plated desserts, and wedding cakes from start to finish.
