Position Summary
The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for a welcoming and memorable dining experience. This role requires friendliness, organization, and teamwork to ensure smooth operations at the front door and dining room.
As a Host/Hostess at Nick's, you'll greet and seat guests, manage reservations, assist with food running, and help maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet guests with warmth and enthusiasm, setting a positive tone.
  • Manage the waitlist and reservations efficiently.
  • Seat guests according to table availability and flow of service.
  • Assist with running food, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Answer phone calls and provide guests with information about the restaurant and wait times.
  • Work as part of a team-service approach, collaborating with colleagues to maintain a stress-free and engaging work environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor, embodying Nick's values of Excellence, Teamwork, Respect, and Accountability.

What We're Looking For
  • A friendly, welcoming personality with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and maintain reservations on a digital platform.

Physical Requirements
Working as a Host/Hostess at Nick's requires energy, attentiveness, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods (6-10 hours per shift).
  • Navigate a busy dining area while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.
  • Lift and carry small trays, menus, and other materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, and handling seating charts or reservation systems.
