Join Our Team as a Seasonal Housekeeping Associate at Hyannis Hostel

HI USA is a nonprofit organization founded on an enduring belief in the power of travel to foster a deeper understanding of people, places, and the world around us. For over 80 years, HI USA has provided a network of affordable hostels that bring together travelers from diverse backgrounds across the country and around the world.

As a Housekeeping Associate, you will help create a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for guests from around the world. This role involves a variety of housekeeping and operational support tasks that directly contribute to a positive guest experience.

Please note: Housing is not provided for this role.

Position Details
  • Pay: $21.00–$27.00/hour, DOE
  • Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
  • Schedule: 32-40 hours per week
  • Availability: Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Season Duration: Immediate opening through the end of September
Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare guest rooms, dorms, bathrooms, and common areas according to hostel standards
  • Mop, vacuum, sweep, and maintain hostel floors and grounds daily
  • Perform laundry tasks including washing, folding, sorting, and restocking linens and towels
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and restock toiletries
  • Wash kitchen dishes and utensils as needed
  • Dust surfaces, wipe down common areas, and clean windows
  • Empty trash and recycling bins daily
  • Report broken items, safety concerns, or maintenance issues to management
  • Assist with inventory and supply organization
  • Support light maintenance, kitchen upkeep, and groundskeeping tasks as needed
Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous housekeeping, hostel, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Customer service experience is a plus
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable performing physically active work, including lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Regularly requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs
  • Moderate noise level typical of hostel settings
