Job description

About RBW
RBW is a contemporary lighting design and manufacturing studio leading the industry in LED fixtures for hospitality and workplace. Our purpose is to realize the unlimited potential of lighting. Through a collaborative process of exploration, discovery ,and improvement with our customers and partners, we craft thoughtful light fixtures. We believe in the power of light to create atmosphere.
About the role
As Project Coordinator, your primary focus will be to lead certification activities for our products across internal teams and external consultants. Your secondary focus will be product development project coordination, supporting Product Enhancement and New Product Development projects.
You will report to the Project Manager and support the Engineering Manager. You will collaborate with cross-functional business units including Innovation, Operations, Finance, and Sales & Marketing. You will foster a culture of recognition and continuous improvement, and support an award-winning product assortment.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a regulated technical environment and can independently drive projects to completion.
What you'll do
Compliance & Certification Project Coordination

  • Keep open certification projects on track and proactively maintain ongoing certification renewals.
  • Coordinate in-house pre-compliance testing for domestic and international certifications (e.g., UL, CE) with Design Engineers, scheduling lab time, tracking test results, and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with external compliance consultants and testing partners, coordinating deliverables, timelines, and communications.
  • Prepare and distribute briefs, specifications, and technical documentation to consultants.
  • Evaluate consultant performance on a project basis and contribute feedback to inform future vendor selection decisions.

Product Enhacements & New Product Development Support
  • Own project coordination of Product Enhancement (PE) projects (modifications to existing, launched products) from initiation through market release.
  • Establish and maintain clear project milestones for each PE project, coordinating workflow across Design, Engineering, Operations, and Sales & Marketing.
  • Hold regular project check-ins with key stakeholders and drive swift resolution of blockers.
  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating New Product Development (NPD) projects.
  • Update and report on project and Innovation Department metrics, as well as the status of active PE and NPD projects.
  • Ensure all project activities are thoroughly documented in accordance with RBW's quality and regulatory standards.
  • Support risk assessment and design review processes by coordinating scheduling and tracking follow-up action items.

And, because no role at RBW is ever fully contained to a list, you may also be asked to take on other responsibilities that support the team, the work, and our shared goals.
Skills, knowledge and expertise
Requirements
  • 5+ years of project coordination experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in product development or related technical project management.

  • Ability to work onsite in Kingston, NY at least 4 days per week.

Nice-to-haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years' experience specifically within lighting product development.
  • Knowledge of lighting industry regulatory & environmental standards (e.g., UL, CE, NOM, IEC, PPWR, POP).
  • Working technical knowledge of lighting architecture (LEDs, COBs, PCBs, drivers, control systems, thermal management, photometry).
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing processes and materials (machining, casting, injection molding, sheet metal, powder coating, glass blowing/casting).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with formal continuous improvement methodologies.

RBW Benefits Package
As a full-time employee you will be able to participate in our benefit package outlined below. You'll also have access to awesome perks such as an on-site Fitness Space in our Kingston Factory, fully-stocked snacks and beverage options, great colleagues, and an open, collaborative team environment.
