Position Summary
The Hospitality Associate is responsible for the creation and serving of specialty coffee and expresso-based drinks. Also responsible for performing a range of food service duties, including cooking, prepping, cleaning and general sanitation. Work requires an advanced level of technical instruction. Employee is expected to work independently, and to be able to resolve problems.
Education/Work Experience:
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent
  • Barista, specialty drink certification or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years experience in retail hospitality culinary experience required
  • Math skills and cash handling experience required
  • Knowledge of working a cash register and credit card machine required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to exchange information on factual matters, greet visitors, and explain medical center policies in terms of cash handling, food preparation and safety if applicable
  • This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients visitors and staff. Employee must use own judgment in terms of issuing reimbursement and providing service recovery in applicable instances

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Skilled in operating an espresso machine. Has a high level of skill in making espresso- based drinks. Able to create specialized beverages.
  • Guides other food service workers serving food to specialty retail patrons or assembling food for special functions.
  • Checks assembled food products to insure adherence to instructions
  • Takes customer orders and prepares the orders according to brand specifications and the customer's request
  • Greets all customers with personalized services. Develops rapport by learning favorite drinks of customers
  • Answers telephone in a courteous manner and takes customer orders and answers questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness
  • Must have knowledge of menu items and recipes to effectively service the customer
  • Instructs personnel in procedures as necessary
  • Adheres to standards set by designated brand
  • Distributes and post marketing materials as required
  • Ability to promote and market brand to customer in order to drive sales
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Maintains daily temperature logs, follows safety standards and completes safety logs
  • Properly utilizes station machinery and equipment
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on machinery
  • Schedules and coordinates duties and personnel to ensure that work is completed efficiently
  • Collects tickets or handles cash, makes change, totals tickets/cash received at end of day
  • Transports cash. Maintains balance of cash drawer
  • Restocks items and inventory, responsible for establishing and maintenance of par levels
  • Completes necessary reports, following specific directions and submits through appropriate channels
  • Performs necessary work such as cleaning appliances and sweeping and mopping work areas to assure cleanliness
  • Receives specialized training on specialty retail policies and procedures
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and frequent lift push pull
  • Involves repetitive motion
  • Involves working with chemicals, heated equipment, steam

Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
6am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Salary Range: Minimum 16.25/hour - Maximum 26.77/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
