Job Description: We're seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to join our team at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington, GA on an as needed basis (PRN). The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a team environment, detail-oriented, and willing to assist where necessary. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists the pharmacist in providing medication, drug information, and pharmaceutical services to patients, nurses, physicians and other hospital personnel
  • Receives and stores incoming deliveries of medication and supplies
  • Demonstrates an ability to calculate figures and amounts relating to dosage calculations when filling various prescriptions ranging from the newborn to the elderly populations
  • Maintains inventory of supplies in pharmacy and other departments and reorders them accordingly
  • Answers the phone and communicates effectively with hospital staff as directed by the pharmacist
  • Performs tasks related to sterile compounding and compounding chemotherapy, including but not limited to clean room training, cleaning, and maintaining the space
  • Prepares and delivers medications to designated locations based on end-user need
  • Maintains stock in the automated dispensing cabinet

Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current pharmacy technician licensure in the applicable state(s)
  • Prefer both hospital and retail experience
