The analyst is responsible for (but is not limited to) processing requests for medical information from physician offices, healthcare facilities, attorneys, insurance companies, patients and/or their representatives.
The Medical-Legal Tech assures that guidelines of HIPAA are followed to reduce the hospital's potential liability in releasing records or protected health information.. He or she must have the ability to deal effectively with the public, medical staff, and other hospital personnel at all times.
