Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Incumbent works in a high volume Referral Center to establish, support and maintain relationships with internal and external referral entities, such as medical groups, IPA's, Health Plans and community physicians.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Understanding of medical terminology as well as insurance programs and payors
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum 6 months recent experience working in the Healthcare field directly related to referrals, authorizations, medical billing, etc.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a customer service position within a healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of hospital based registration/scheduling system to register patients
  • General knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Ability to problem solve, negotiate and research for answers
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to interpret and understand various medical insurance plans and make accurate determinations regarding coverage
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous call center experience
  • Experience with EPIC and/or OnBase.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
  • 1 to 2 years experience in a Healthcare field directly related to referrals, authorizations, medical billing, etc.
