JOB SUMMARY

This job involves handling the movement, storage, and shipping of inventory within the ReStore warehouse. This includes receiving, sorting, and storing inventory, as well as preparing donations for delivery. They may also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment and operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities

  • Receives store merchandise and moves to appropriate pricing areas in an efficient and responsible manner.
  • Issues "Donation Tax Receipt" to customers upon delivery of merchandise to store.
  • Prices merchandise according to pricing procedure manual.
  • Delivers merchandise to appropriate area on sales floor after priced.
  • Removes all merchandise from sales floor with proper sales receipt for immediate or delayed customer pick-up.
  • Compiles and maintains records of deliveries, pick-ups and donations related to warehouse management.
  • Operates all equipment in a safe, cost-effective manner.
  • Acts as relief truck driver when needed due to illness and sickness.
  • Keeps work area and warehouse clean, neat and orderly with inventory safely and properly displayed.
  • Supervises and trains volunteers in the warehouse.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram or schedule form.
  • Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regularly required to talk and/or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle and/or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; and crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to climb stairs.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities and skills.
  • Exhibit reasonable mechanical aptitude about equipment and vehicles.
  • Able to safely lift (and position) at least fifty plus (50+) pounds, stand, squat, bend and climb in and out of a truck on a frequent basis.
  • Knowledge of furniture moving techniques.
  • Dependable, motivated and good problem-solving skills.
  • Gets the job done on time.
  • Works well under pressure.
