How much do home roofing jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 4, 2026, the average yearly pay for home roofing in the United States is $79,311.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $59,000.00 and $95,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How to make $100k in roofing sales?

Home roofing sales professionals can reach $100,000 or more annually by building a strong client base, developing effective sales skills, and understanding roofing products and installation processes. Success often depends on consistent lead generation, excellent customer service, and closing high-value projects. Certifications and experience can also enhance earning potential in this field.

How much money do roofers get paid?

Home roofers typically earn an average hourly wage of $15 to $30, with annual salaries ranging from $30,000 to $60,000 depending on experience, location, and skill level. Experienced roofers with certifications or specialized skills can earn higher wages, especially when working on complex or commercial projects.

What are home roofing professionals?

Home roofing professionals are skilled tradespeople who specialize in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofs on residential properties. They work with a variety of roofing materials such as shingles, tiles, metal, and flat roofing systems to ensure homes are protected from weather and environmental damage. Roofers assess the condition of existing roofs, provide recommendations for repairs or replacements, and ensure that all work complies with safety standards and building codes. Their expertise helps maintain the structural integrity and value of a home.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Home Roofing Professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Home Roofing Professional, you need strong knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques, and safety standards, typically supported by on-the-job training or apprenticeship. Familiarity with tools such as nail guns, roofing nailers, harness systems, and sometimes certification in OSHA safety protocols is important. Physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork, and clear communication are critical soft skills in this field. These abilities ensure high-quality workmanship, safety, and efficiency on roofing projects, directly impacting customer satisfaction and workplace safety.

What is the difference between Home Roofing vs Roof Repair Specialist?

AspectHome RoofingRoof Repair Specialist
CredentialsRoofing license, OSHA safety trainingRoofing license, safety certifications
Work EnvironmentResidential roofs, outdoor, variable weatherResidential roofs, outdoor, variable weather
Industry UsageDesign, installation, and replacement of entire roofsRepairing and patching existing roofs

Home Roofing involves installing, replacing, or upgrading entire residential roofs, requiring comprehensive skills and certifications. Roof Repair Specialists focus on fixing specific issues like leaks or damage on existing roofs. While both roles work outdoors on residential properties and share similar credentials, Home Roofing covers a broader scope including new installations, whereas Roof Repair Specialists concentrate on repairs.

What is the 25% rule in roofing?

The 25% rule in roofing refers to a guideline that limits the removal of existing roofing material to no more than 25% of the roof's total area at a time to prevent structural issues. Home roofing professionals often follow this rule to ensure safety and proper installation when replacing or repairing roofs, especially during partial reroofs. Adhering to this standard helps maintain the roof's integrity and compliance with safety codes.

Do roofers make 100k a year?

Home roofers typically do not earn $100,000 annually, especially those working as laborers or apprentices. Experienced and specialized roofers, such as those with advanced skills or working in high-demand areas, can reach or exceed this income level, often through overtime, union wages, or owning their own business.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in home roofing, and how can they be managed on the job?

Home roofing professionals often encounter challenges such as unpredictable weather conditions, working at heights, and ensuring job site safety. Managing these challenges involves following strict safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment, and staying updated on weather forecasts to plan work schedules effectively. Additionally, collaborating closely with other crew members and maintaining clear communication can help address potential issues quickly and keep projects on track.

Allied Roofing & Construction

In-Home Roofing Sales Representative

Location: Lodi, NJ / Northern New Jersey Territory

Give This Industry a Better Name. One House at a Time.

Allied Roofing & Construction is a 30+ year exterior construction company serving residential and commercial clients across Northern New Jersey. Our primary focus is roofing, with siding and windows as additional services. We are hiring an In-Home Roofing Sales Representative to run qualified homeowner appointments, inspect roofs and properties, present solutions, and close deals using Allied's proven sales process. Key Responsibilities

  • Run in-home sales appointments with qualified leads provided by the company

  • Present roofing, siding, and exterior solutions to homeowners
  • Follow Allied's structured in-home sales process.
  • Communicate with clients throughout the sales and production handoff process
  • Build trust, create urgency, and close deals professionally
  • Generate referrals, network locally, and build additional lead sources
  • Participate in sales meetings, training, ride-alongs, and ongoing development
  • Use company software, tablets, and cloud-based tools to manage sales activity

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred
  • Roofing, siding, windows, exterior remodeling, or home improvement sales experience preferred
  • Candidates with some training from a larger home improvement or roofing company are encouraged to apply
  • Must be coachable and willing to follow a proven sales system
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, walking roofs, and working outside
  • Strong communication, confidence, and closing ability
  • Competitive, motivated, relentless, and results-driven
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
  • Must be comfortable using a tablet, computer, and cloud-based software
  • Insurance claim experience is a plus
  • No estimating experience required
  • Must be able to climb ladders, walk on pitched roofs, and lift inspection equipment as needed.

Pay and Benefits

  • W-2 Employment
  • Expected earnings: $100,000-$200,000+ per year OTE
  • Strong performers can earn $120,000-$200,000+ annually
  • Uncapped commission opportunity
  • Weekly commission payouts
  • Qualified appointments provided
  • Health insurance benefits
  • Retirement benefits
  • Ongoing sales training and development
  • Ride-alongs and structured onboarding
  • Company outings, trips, and team events
  • Company gear, including jackets, sweatshirts, hats, and more
  • Full-time with a flexible schedule based on customer appointments, including some evenings and Saturdays.

Our team lives by the mindset of "No Problems, Only Solutions" and values integrity, constant improvement, accountability, teamwork, and relentless follow-through. This is the right place for a hungry, competitive, coachable salesperson who wants to follow a proven system, serve homeowners well, and build a serious income.
