The Opportunity

The Risk Management Regional Manager is a hands-on, technical, tacticalfocused fieldmanagerresponsible for the daily operation and directionof anassignedregionalRiskManagement territory.Primary responsibilities includedirecting daily field operationsof designated Risk Management Consultants,supporting initiatives and directives from the Director of Risk Management, andthe implementation and execution of policies and procedures designed toincrease departmental efficiencies,provide stellar customer service to all internal and external stakeholders, andimprove overall loss results. TheRMRMis responsible fordesignatedstaffingand performance management,all manner of internal/external stakeholdertrainingand Continuing Education, and overall performance of the assignedRisk Managementteam.

Our success is rooted in teamwork and the way we care for the people we work with and serve. This field-based role allows you to set your schedule from a home office, with approximately three to four days per week in the field and overnight travel as needed. You will also travel to our Raleigh office for meetings and company events up to four times per year. We are seeking candidates who reside within our footprint, including the North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Florida areas.

Your WORK as a Risk Management Regional Manager will make a difference by:

  • Recruit, select, develop, andcoachRisk Management Consultantsthroughfrequent interactionviafieldco-travelson selected medium/large accountsand toagents.
  • Direct the delivery ofvalue-addedRiskManagement services to policyholders, agents, insureds,and prospective policyholders.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on loss trends and class code profitability.Develop recommendations to improvelossfrequency and severity.
  • Partner withUnderwriting, Claims, Marketing, andother functions to implement proactive solutionsfor improving loss results and enhancing the Risk Management brand to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure top performanceof designated consultants through ownership and implementationifthe field quality analysis program. Work with the RMTM tomonitortrends, develop necessarytrainingand deliver effectively.
  • Promote and develophigh levelsof customer service in the decentralized,customer facingRisk Management organization.
  • Conduct accident investigationson selected, potentially high exposureclaims.
  • Represent company in Home Builders Association (HBA) meetings and events.

Travel Requirements

  • Our consultants, clients, agents, and brokersare located inanine-statearea from Maryland to Mississippi, requiring the Risk Management Regional Manager to travel out of town 25%-50%, and occasionally more.Normal duration for remote client visits is 1-2 nights away from the RMRM's home office.

Skills to get the JOB done RIGHT:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least5years of insurance, riskmanagement,claimsand industry experience; or an equivalent combination of education andexperience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with all levels of the organization and its business partners
  • Previousexperience leading a team ofcustomerfacingprofessionals.
  • An excellent understanding ofunderwritingclaims and risk assessmentprinciples.
  • An exceptional understanding of insurance company home office management processes,issues,and requirements
