Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for leading nursing and all allied health informatics services to assist RCHSD in the delivery of the highest quality patient care, clinical education and research through planning, organizing, directing, leading, and evaluating enterprise level programs that include, but are not limited to quality, documentation management, nursing regulatory readiness, and clinical data systems. Provides nursing leadership in formulating and implementing plans for maximizing the clinical use of information technology and communication systems at RCHHC. Manages the evaluation, coordination, implementation, and support for Epic and other clinical applications within the hospital in conjunction with the information technology department. Manages communication needs regarding clinical applications between information systems staff, the clinical leadership team, and users.

Serves as a key advisor in creating and executing business strategies to advance clinical information systems that bring evidenced-based medicine to the point of care consistent with our mission and strategy. Provides strategic direction and works collaboratively with IT leadership and clinical informatics specialists for the delivery of value-added health care informatics and technology that supports the strategic plan of the organization and achieves clinical, financial and service quality objectives. Serves as a liaison between clinicians and systems analysts and represents clinicians’ needs while assuring technology across multiple disciplines is leveraged for the ultimate goal of providing high quality and safe patient care. Responsible for the strategic and operational support of clinical Information systems utilized in patient care areas. Serves as a liaison in system initiatives to all patient care disciplines and the IT department as it relates to clinical information systems.

Participates as an active member of the IT and the Nursing and Patient Care Services leadership teams and works collaboratively with the CMIO and CNO as well as other interdisciplinary leaders to establish short and long term goals and implementation strategies that support RCHSD strategic plan and priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Master’s Degree in Nursing, Informatics or Leadership

California RN License

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) – Nursing Informatics certification (within 12 months of hire)

5 Years of clinical experience in acute care settings

3 years of EPIC system utilization – involvement with design, installation, maintenance, and upgrades

2-3 years of leadership experience

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

7 Years of Experience

EPIC certification/training

The current salary range for this position is $82.14 to $112.94
