Job description

Room Attendant / Housekeeper

Location: Holiday Inn Express - Pearland, TX

Position Summary

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and assigned public areas to ensure a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests. This role plays a key part in delivering the high cleanliness standards expected at Holiday Inn Express while supporting overall guest satisfaction.

The Room Attendant works closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor and housekeeping team to ensure rooms are cleaned efficiently, properly stocked, and ready for arriving guests.

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Executive Housekeeper

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGuest Room Cleaning
  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to Holiday Inn Express brand standards.

  • Make beds and replace linens.

  • Clean bathrooms including sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors, and floors.

  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.

  • Vacuum carpets and mop floors where applicable.

  • Replace used guest amenities such as toiletries, coffee supplies, and towels.

Room Preparation
  • Ensure guest rooms are clean, sanitized, and properly prepared for guest arrivals.

  • Inspect rooms for cleanliness and maintenance issues.

  • Report any maintenance problems immediately to housekeeping or maintenance staff.

Stocking and Organization
  • Restock housekeeping carts with linens, towels, and cleaning supplies.

  • Maintain an organized cart and storage areas.

  • Ensure proper handling of hotel linens and supplies.

Guest Service
  • Provide courteous and friendly service when interacting with guests.

  • Respond promptly to guest requests when possible.

  • Respect guest privacy and follow hotel procedures when entering rooms.

Safety and Compliance
  • Follow hotel safety and sanitation standards.

  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.

  • Report lost and found items according to hotel procedures.

Productivity Expectations
  • Clean assigned number of guest rooms per shift according to hotel standards.

  • Maintain consistent quality and efficiency while cleaning rooms.
