Job description

Opening its doors in 2013 and expanding in 2017, thisstate-of-the-artacute care facility has 177 patient rooms and offers services in a wide variety of specialties to meet community needs.You'llbe supported as you follow your dreams and find where you belong, here at Tradition Hospital.

AsaLeadProcedural Technologist, you will provide leadership inthe Cardiac Cath Lab, including providing guidance for caregiver roles and functions in the procedural area, and monitoring quality and regulatory compliance.You will alsoassistnursing and medical staffin providingcare to patients undergoing invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization and vascular procedures.This role offers the ability to experience a diversity of modalities and the ability to grow and expand knowledgeeach day.

A caregiver in this position worksMonday-Friday from 7:00AM - 5:30PM, including rotating weekend and holiday requirements.Takingcallisrequired, including weekends and holidays. Availability isrequiredfor disaster response, as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assignanddistributework of procedural technologists.

  • Manage caseload as necessary, coordinating patient flow to area based on clinical information and equipment availability.

  • Coordinate work schedules to provide required shift and on-call coverage.

  • Assistin the development and implementation of in-service training and new employee orientation.

  • Assistthe manager with performance appraisals, correctiveactionsand approval of overtime.

  • Supervise thedepartmentfunctions and resources as needed in the absence of the department manager.

  • Perform quality audits including technologist documentation and completion of process confirmation.

  • Act asresourceperson in the care,maintenanceand use of all specialized equipment in the lab.

  • Introduce andtrainstaff on new techniques,equipmentand supplies.

  • Have oversight for staff onboarding andfollowpreceptor'sorientation plan for completion.

  • Promote a team approach both inter and intradepartmentally.

  • Perform the job duties of a procedural technologist.

  • Perform pre-procedure preparation, post-procedurecareand patient disposition in collaboration with nursing and medical staff.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Graduate of an accredited program for Cardiovascular Technology

  • Registered Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Certified or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCVT)

  • Cardiovascular Lab Technology Program Certificate or equivalent educationdeemedacceptable by RCIS and RCES credentialing body

  • Three to five years of experience within specialty

  • Experience in cardiac catheterization lab operations, procedures,equipmentand workflows

  • STEMI experience

  • Acute care experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Essential Duties: Interact with patients, family's physicians and other health care workers. Good hand coordination for positioning of probe and equipment. Good vision to analyze computer screens and VCR recordings to diagnose test results.
  • Physical Duties: Moderate lifting and positioning of patients. Moderate pushing and pulling of equipment.
  • Working Conditions: 100% air conditioned. Moderate risk of exposure to blood or airborne pathogens.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
