HMG physicians often work in shifts to provide 24/7 patient coverage, focusing on efficiency and improving hospital outcomes. The job may also involve administrative duties, quality improvement initiatives, and collaboration with other healthcare providers.

What does a typical shift look like for an HMG physician?

HMG physicians typically work in rotating shifts that can include days, nights, and weekends, managing the care of hospitalized patients from admission through discharge. During a typical shift, you’ll conduct patient rounds, coordinate with specialists and nurses, respond to consult requests, and handle acute medical issues as they arise.
