HMG -Crane Mechanic

Location:Silverdale, Washington (Bangor)

Type:Non-Exempt

Work Schedule:Full-time

Compensation:$40.11-$40.11per hour

The Crane Mechanicmaintainsthe safe operation of cranes by conducting thorough inspections, maintenance, and repairs. This involves diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and replacing faulty components. As well asidentifyingpotential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Inspect andidentifyproblems with crane systems and components (e.g., hoists, brakes, wire ropes, structural parts).

Conduct operational tests (lifting, lowering, emergency stops) and load tests to verify the crane's capacity to handle loads safely.

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, including braking systems, hydraulic components, and control systems.

  • Perform routine maintenance, services, repairs, overhauls, and replacements of parts as needed. Including engine, hydraulic, electrical,structuraland mechanical systems.

  • Prepare andmaintainaccuratedetailed inspection reports, maintenance logs, and repair documentation.

  • Ensure all inspections and operations adhere to safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ASME) and company standards.

  • Portable handheld electronic devices shall be used, where applicable, in the performance of daily duties for purposes including but not limited to documenting work, timekeeping, and ordering materials where applicable.

  • This position may be subject to call-back availability based on operational needs.

  • All Other Duties/Projects as Assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Specialized crane maintenance courses or certifications, preferred.

  • At least 3 years' direct experience working in crane operations.

  • Experience as a mechanic, with specific experience in crane operation and repair, preferred.

  • Crane inspector certification preferred.

  • Proficiencyin crane inspection techniques, knowledge of safety standards, and familiarity with crane systems and components.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.

  • Strong skills incommunications, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crawl, reach, push, pull, and climb.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work at heights.

Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to obtain andmaintainall applicable federal security clearances.

  • Required drug screening, physical, and background check.

  • A valid statedriverlicense isrequired. Must be able to obtain andmaintaincoverage by HMG's insurance company.
