Job description

Job Overview:

  • We are seeking a Snowflake Data Engineer with a background in healthcare data to design and implement data solutions.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Strong experience in Snowflake (Medallion Architecture).
  • Expertise in SQL Server (Schema, SPs, Jobs, Performance tuning).
  • Knowledge of HL7 data structures and healthcare workflows.
  • Experience in ETL/ELT tools (ADF, Airflow, etc.).
  • Data modeling (Dimensional / Star Schema).
  • Handling semi-structured data (JSON/VARIANT).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Snowflake-based data platform using Medallion Architecture.
  • Gather requirements and analyze existing HL7 to SQL Server ETL workflows.
  • Design Bronze, Silver, Gold layers in Snowflake.
  • Build data ingestion pipelines for HL7 messages (ADT, ORM, ORU).
  • Parse and map HL7 data into structured relational models.
  • Perform data transformation, cleansing, and normalization.
  • Reverse engineer SQL Server databases (tables, SPs, jobs, dependencies).
  • Migrate ETL and batch jobs to Snowflake (Tasks/Streams/ADF/Airflow).
  • Develop data models (fact and dimension tables) for analytics.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance.
  • Implement scheduling, monitoring, and performance optimization.

Nice to Have:

  • DICOM data exposure.
  • Real-time streaming (Kafka/Event Hub).
  • Healthcare domain experience.
  • Data governance and security (HIPAA awareness).
