Ballentine Partners is looking for an enthusiastic Research Analyst to join our growing Investments team. The Research Analyst will assist in identifying opportunities and conducting due diligence across all major private market asset classes including private equity, private credit, and real assets. This role will support the investment team throughout the deal process from end to end. This individual will be a visible member of the team supporting the private portfolio while working alongside experienced investment professionals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the sourcing, research, and evaluation of private market investment opportunities across funds and co-investments.
  • Participating throughout the investment process, including due diligence, financial and qualitative analysis, and the preparation and presentation of investment committee materials.
  • Researching market developments, secular trends, and investment themes across private asset classes to help inform opportunity identification and portfolio strategy.
  • Maintaining our database of investment managers and opportunities, including current and historical pipeline activity.
  • Supporting ongoing relationships with investment partners and managers.
  • Working closely with the private investments operations team to coordinate transaction execution and ongoing portfolio management with legal counsel, fund administrators, accountants, and other service providers. Promoting a culture of collaboration and willingness to work cross-functionally to add value across the investment platform.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Attribute

The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a strong interest in private markets and investment research.
  • Be a highly analytical, fact-based thinker with strong quantitative skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, senior stakeholders, and external investment managers.
  • Take a proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving, conducting independent research, anticipating issues, and proposing thoughtful solutions.
  • Be highly organized and able to manage competing priorities, take direction from multiple team members, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively across teams, with a positive and collegial attitude.
  • Demonstrate sound professional judgment, discretion, and high standards of integrity.
  • Demonstrates advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build and analyze financial models.
  • Be comfortable learning and using investment research platforms, manager databases, CRM systems, and other technology tools.
  • Show a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and achieving positive outcomes for clients.
  • Contribute to broader investment team and firmwide initiatives as needed.

A Bachelorโ€™s Degree is required. Masterโ€™s Degree and/or CFA designation (or progress toward) are a plus.

Up to two years of relevant experience is preferred. Candidates may demonstrate this experience through prior employment, internships, investment research, student-managed investment funds, or other rigorous analytical work. Exposure to private equity, venture capital, private credit, real assets, or investment manager due diligence is strongly preferred.

Ballentine Partners compensation is made up of a base salary and performance bonus. The salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. Performance bonuses are based upon company and personal performance and are paid annually.
