Technical Recruiter

VVater

Austin, TX • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 9 days ago

Job description

VVater is America's Next Water Company, delivering the future of purification through its award-winning Farady Reactor (CES Best of Innovation 2025, World Future Award 2025), proprietary ALTEP (Advanced Low Tension Electroporation Process), Advanced Dissolved Air Flotation, and Micro & Nano Bubble technologies. Unlike outdated chemical, filter, and membrane systems, VVater's electric-field breakthroughs eliminate PFAS, microplastics, microorganisms, and other contaminants with record retention times, without toxic byproducts or costly consumables.
With over 4.3B gallons treated and validation from global leaders, VVater is scaling into municipal drinking water and wastewater, DPR/IPR, onsite reuse for data centers, commercial buildings, and resorts, residential purification, and consumer health water, delivering a 60% smaller footprint, 40% CapEx savings, 80% OpEx savings, and 40% less energy use.
Job Summary:
VVater is hiring a hands-on technical recruiter who will serve as the company's entire hiring function for engineering talent. You will own 100% of the recruiting lifecycle, workforce planning, sourcing, screening, interviewing (behavioral and technical), coordinating hiring panels, reference/background checks, offer construction and closing, and onboarding hand-off, for Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Process, CAD/Industrial Design, Field/Project Engineering, and related roles. This is a builder role for someone who can design the recruiting engine while running it: stand up ATS workflows, create interview rubrics, drive employer branding, and report hiring metrics to leadership, while ensuring compliance and delivering an outstanding candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a one-person hiring team: run intake/kickoff with leaders, define profiles, set timelines, and own all day-to-day recruiting activity through start date.
  • Source proactively via LinkedIn Recruiter, advanced Boolean/X-ray, associations (ASME, IEEE, ASCE, AIChE, SWE, NSBE, SHPE), ABET programs, alumni networks, trade groups, referrals, and targeted job boards.
  • Conduct all first-round behavioral and technical screens (mechanics/thermo/fluids basics, circuits/controls fundamentals, civil/site literacy), evaluate portfolios/CAD artifacts, and administer work samples or case studies.
  • Schedule and facilitate all subsequent interviews, run structured debriefs with objective scorecards, and guide selection decisions; train interviewers on best practices and bias reduction.
  • Build and maintain the ATS (e.g., BreezyHR/Rippling/Greenhouse/Lever), requisition templates, pipelines, and automated workflows; ensure pristine data hygiene and compliance with EEO/OFCCP and applicable state/federal laws.
  • Craft compelling, inclusive job ads; develop employer-brand content tailored to engineers; represent VVater at universities, career fairs, and industry events; manage internship/co-op pipelines.
  • Own compensation benchmarking and offer strategy in partnership with Finance/HR; manage references, background checks, relocation, and (as needed) basic visa coordination.
  • Report weekly hiring analytics (time-to-fill, pass-through, source effectiveness, candidate NPS, diversity metrics); continuously improve process speed, quality, and candidate experience.
  • Partner with Operations, R&D, and IT to forecast demand and build hiring plans that align with product and project schedules.
  • Perform all other duties as instructed by the company.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting focused on engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Process, CAD/ID); in-house manufacturing/cleantech/water experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success running high-volume sourcing and closing hard-to-fill engineering roles as a solo or lead recruiter.
  • Working literacy in engineering environments and artifacts (CAD models/drawings, P&IDs, one-lines, submittals) and comfort assessing fundamentals with candidates.
  • Mastery of LinkedIn Recruiter, Breezy, Rippling and advanced Boolean; proficiency with an ATS and spreadsheet/reporting tools; strong writing and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Organized, resourceful, and metrics-driven with a service mindset and the urgency to meet aggressive hiring goals.

**As a part of our process to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of all applicants, assessment tests are required as part of our recruitment process.
