Summary
The Epic Analyst 3 serves as an advanced-level professional responsible for the high-complexity build, configuration, and optimization of assigned Epic modules. Operating with a high degree of independence, this role leads specialized initiatives and translates intricate clinical or business requirements into sophisticated system solutions that drive enterprise-wide efficiency. The Analyst 3 serves as a key escalation point for complex technical issues and provides dedicated mentorship to junior staff to ensure adherence to build standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
  • Advanced Configuration: Independently lead the analysis, design, build, and optimization of complex Epic workflows, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Project Leadership: Serve as the application lead for medium-to-large projects, including upgrades, new feature rollouts, and workflow redesign initiatives.
  • Expert Support & Troubleshooting: Act as the primary escalation point for Level 1-2 analysts to resolve high-complexity technical issues and perform in-depth root cause analysis.
  • Strategic Partnership: Partner with clinical and operational leadership to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions that improve efficiency and patient safety.
  • Mentorship & Quality: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff while maintaining rigorous documentation and testing standards.
  • Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise).
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.
  • Architect advanced HIM and Identity workflows, including master patient index (MPI) strategy and record-matching logic.
  • Lead the design and integration of OnBase document management solutions and advanced system interfaces (APIs, HL7, FHIR).
  • Partner with clinical and legal leadership to drive data integrity initiatives and ensure adherence to HIM regulatory standards.
  • Oversee technical reviews and build validation for complex chart deficiency and release of information (ROI) workflows.

Experience
Generally requires 7 to 9 years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical, or related field.
Education
  • High School diploma is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.

Credentials
Epic certification in assigned specialty area is required.
