Position Summary:
The primary purpose of your job position is assist the HIM Director in ensuring all record-keeping functions of the facility are implemented, maintained, and reviewed.
Job Functions

    • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the centers and professional best practices for creation, maintaining, storing, and destruction of patient health records
    • Ensures accurate and consistent documentation in patient health records throughout a patient's stay
    • Scans all relevant documentation to the electronic health record
    • Completes ongoing evaluation of record-keeping practices
    • Completes new admission audits for document completion
    • Periodically perform a quantitative review of health records to ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness
    • Update diagnoses and conditions per the patients' health record, ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines, and RAI Manual Guidance
    • Assess discharge documentation for timeliness, accuracy, and completion
    • Obtain all missing information to complete the record within 30 days of discharge

Education
