Facility Inpatient Coder
Remote | Full-Time Preferred (Part-Time Considered - Minimum 20 Hours/Week)
GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Facility Inpatient Coder to join our growing coding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an acute care inpatient coding professional who is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and quality.
We are seeking candidates interested in full-time employment; however, we will also consider part-time candidates who can commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.
Position Responsibilities
  • Review and accurately code acute care inpatient medical records.
  • Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes in accordance with Official Coding Guidelines, UHDDS, CMS, and payer requirements.
  • Accurately assign MS-DRGs, Present on Admission (POA) indicators, discharge disposition, and quality-related data elements.
  • Analyze physician documentation to ensure complete and compliant code assignment.
  • Identify documentation opportunities and collaborate with Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) teams when appropriate.
  • Maintain productivity and coding quality standards while meeting established turnaround times.
  • Stay current on coding regulations, payer updates, and industry best practices.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of recent acute care inpatient facility coding experience.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • ICD-10-CM
    • ICD-10-PCS
    • MS-DRG assignment
    • POA indicators
    • UHDDS reporting requirements
    • CMS and payer-specific coding guidelines

Required Systems Experience
  • Epic
  • 3M Encoder

Required Certifications AHIMA/AAPC
One of the following credentials is required:
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
  • Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)

Compensation
$37.00-$40.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
