Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Medical & Dental Biller
Pay rate for this role is $24 per hour.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40-hour work week

Summary of position: The Medical and Dental Biller is responsible for submitting claims for all medical and dental services rendered and researching claims in rejected and/or hold status using the appropriate billing and electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role supports functions related to insurance payers, credentialing, and both internal and external audits while maintaining strict confidentiality. Additional responsibilities include submitting and tracking dental pre-authorizations, documenting outcomes in the EHR, creating treatment plan cost estimates, and assisting with Ryan White treatment plan estimates and related correspondence.
Qualifications and abilities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, a minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and or follow up with all types of insurance carriers including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Must have accounts receivable and practice management system experience. Must be organized, self-sufficient, hardworking, analytical, and detailed orientated.
General Duties include but are not limited to
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients and staff, addressing any billing issues and/or concerns.
  • Process dental claims daily via Dentrix enterprise
  • Completion of posting the Daily Deposit Transmittal (DDT)
  • Completion of Athena Worklists (Billing, Hold, Zero Pay, Unapplied, etc.)
  • Filing and scanning essential billing documents
  • Mailing of essential medical and dental billing documents/claims daily.
  • Review overpaid claims, credit balances and refund requests daily.
  • Review Dental Procedure code not submitted to Insurance Weekly.
  • Review Dental Aging Quarterly.
  • Print, review, and mail dental patient statements
  • Reviews the Secondary Insurance Billing report monthly to ensure that Athena is submitting claim correctly to all secondary payers.
  • Review and follow up with billing related flags from providers, clinical staff, Athena Billing and Dental.
  • Liaison between all Insurance Carriers and Waikiki Health, reporting any issues related to Medical and Dental billing.
  • Other duties as assigned
