Overview
The Project Engineerplays a critical role at Veeco. In this position, you will coordinate projects involving cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of complex capital equipment through the configuration process and into a finished state for external customers. You will need to have a detailed understanding of what has been sold, as expressed in the corresponding sales documentation, quotes, proposals, contracts, system definition engines, customer and internal communications.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with managing the timeline for Engineered-to-Order (ETO) build within Operations team for strategic and key customers in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers, Planners, and the designated Test Engineer.
  • Work closely with planners to coordinate phased material releases using a just-in-time approach, enabling uninterrupted and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Work closely with the product marketing group and coordinate the review of customer specifications and tool configuration. This includes informing the appropriate teams when gaps exist at tool kick-off.
  • Send out weekly equipment schedule updates to various teams (sales, finance, management, and customers).
  • Organize and schedule in-house/virtual customer source inspection for the tool as required. Ensure all action items from customer source inspection are documented, addressed, and closed out prior to shipment.
  • Complete ship readiness review documentation and facilitate wrap-up meeting with cross functional team.
  • Coordinate shipping of capital equipment (i.e., dates, paperwork, compliance of special shipping requirements, weights/dimensions, upgrades, etc.) with Logistics and Shipping team.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (engineering, business, or related discipline preferred) with minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master's degree with 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience coordinating projects from sales order to delivery where communication with disciplines across many functions (hardware and software engineering, materials, manufacturing operations, quality, etc.) is required for success.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment; able to manage changing schedules, specifications, resources effectively.
  • Able to provide leadership through influence for a multi-disciplinary team. Adept at multitasking and prioritizing.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Speaks effectively with clarity, credibility, and confidence when communicating with customers, management, and peers.
  • Skilled in the use of computers, software applications, and other technology used for information gathering, product testing, computation. This includes proficiency in the Microsoft Suite- Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, SolidWorks CAD drawing is desirable.

Salary and BenefitsThe expected salary range for this position is $88,793.00- $112,470.00 plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
