What would you do?
Responsibilities in this fast-paced environment include, but are not limited to, the following: working Lynx home games and preparing materials for the media, setting up and taking down the Lynx media section and media room, transcribing post-game quotes and distributing them to media, and other projects as needed. Attendance at Lynx home games is required, and the job includes some weekend work.
This is a part-time seasonal role.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions:
  • Provide media and teams with statistical and press content.
  • Participate in Lynx game-day in-arena media setup and take down.
  • Assist with game-night media hospitality.
  • Assist with any post-game events that may occur during Lynx home games.
  • Transcribe home and visiting player/coach quotes and distribute to the working media.
  • Work with the team's media monitoring service on an as-needed basis to facilitate daily clips distribution. Assist in directing the Live Programming and Entertainment team to deliver a premier in-game experience.
  • Assist with social media, digital platforms, and content.
  • Assist with game-night business intelligence team needs.
  • Support third-party relationships including brand and media agencies, print houses, content creators, etc.

Additional information:
Experience: Communications background, including Public Relations, Journalism and/or sports information experience is preferred
Education: Bachelor's Degree in or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Work Environment
Work is generally sedentary in nature. The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in gymnasiums, the Timberwolves/Lynx practice facility and a professional sports arena, which include bleachers/steps
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will occasionally ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff will frequently move boxes and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
Salary: This role pays $17/hour
