What is help desk technical support?

Help Desk Technical Support professionals are IT specialists who assist users with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. They typically serve as the first point of contact for customers or employees experiencing technical problems, providing solutions via phone, email, chat, or in person. Their responsibilities include diagnosing problems, guiding users through steps to resolve issues, and escalating complex problems to higher-level technical staff if necessary. They also help with software installations, account setups, and maintaining documentation of support requests.

What skills and qualifications are needed for help desk technical support?
