Responsibilities
Job Summary: The Registered Dietician at H-E-B is a licensed nutrition expert who provides advanced-level nutrition care, serves as a nutrition expert and wellness advocate, providing evidence-based guidance to patients. This role bridges the gap between healthcare and consumer behavior by promoting healthy food choices, conducting educational events, and supporting store initiatives that align strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Advanced Nutrition Counseling:
    • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments using clinical data, lab results, and patient history
    • Provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for chronic and complex conditions
    • Develop culturally sensitive and individualized nutrition care plans
    • Leads store tours
    • Collaborates with clinic interdisciplinary care team and specialists
  • Community & Corporate Engagement:
    • Represent H-E-B at community health events, conferences, and media appearances
    • Build partnerships with local health organizations, schools, and nonprofits
    • Support corporate wellness programs for employees, including biometric screenings and lunch-and-learns
  • Data & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) or CRM systems
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FDA labeling laws, and state licensure requirements
  • Innovation & Research:
    • Contribute to research projects or quality improvement initiatives
    • Stay current with emerging nutrition science and retail health trends
    • Recommend new technologies or tools to enhance service delivery
