Job description

Looking for a motivated individual for a technical sales position:
The Sales & Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and sales expertise to the customer on determining a custom solution to their specific application. This individual works closely with customers to understand specific application needs, develops a custom product solution, and supports the sales process from initial inquiry to final delivery.
  • SALES SUPPORT & CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
    • Primary liaison between customers and internal engineering team.
    • Identify and qualify customer needs and application requirements.
    • Prepare and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and presentations.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure project and design viability.
    • Assist in pricing strategies based on design complexity, materials, and market conditions.

  • APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING
    • Analyze process data (i.e. temperatures, pressures, flow rates, media, etc.) to design appropriate heat exchanger solutions.
    • Select and size heat exchangers using either thermal and mechanical design software (HTRI, Aspen, etc.) or proprietary IHT software.
    • Create SPECIFICATION DATA SHEETS to support design specifics to assist engineering in the design of the unit.
    • Collaborate with design, engineering, quality, and manufacturing to determine appropriate design codes, quality or code requirements, potential manufacturing issues, and materials of construction.

  • PRODUCT & MARKET KNOWLEDGE
    • Stay current on industry standards, technologies, and customer applications in industries such as oil & gas, chemical, power generation, marine, defense, HVAC, and food processing.
    • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and local events to help promote company solutions and capabilities.
    • Provide valuable feedback to engineering and manufacturing about customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction to ensure future project successes.
    • Provide feedback to engineering and manufacturing based on customer needs and market trends.
