District Manager - Respiratory Home Health & DME Operations

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a seasoned District Manager to oversee operations across two branch locations. This leadership role is ideal for a healthcare operations professional with experience in respiratory home health, durable medical equipment (DME), or post-acute care management. If you're passionate about driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and team development, we want to hear from you. As District Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance of your branches-financially, operationally, and clinically. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster strong relationships with referral sources and patients.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and performance across two locations
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, FDA/DOT, and accreditation standards (e.g., JCAHO)
  • Manage inventory, billing, and documentation to support timely reimbursement
  • Collaborate with respiratory clinicians and sales teams to grow referral networks
  • Implement and monitor clinical programs such as our Gold Care initiative
  • Lead morning huddles, performance reviews, and staff development initiatives
  • Maintain high levels of patient and referral source satisfaction
  • Drive growth strategies to meet or exceed budgeted goals
  • Travel between locations as needed
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and performance improvement
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in DME/HME or home health operations (required)
  • Three years of experience in the home health industry (required)
  • Florida: Must have two years of experience in business management or a college degree in business or a healthcare-related field
  • North Carolina: Must hold a Bachelor's degree in health science, business administration, or a related field, plus at least one year of documented supervisory or management experience in home care or related health programs
  • Wyoming: Must have a minimum of two years of full-time managerial or supervisory experience in a pharmacy or wholesale distributor

Preferred Education and/or Experience
  • Three years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)
  • Leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably in respiratory therapy, DME, or home health
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and clinical program management

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to interpret and respond to various forms of communication (verbal, written, visual, and non-verbal)
  • In-depth knowledge of DME/HME operations, insurance policies, and medical billing practices
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Route planning and mapping skills for efficient delivery coordination
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening
  • Ability to read small print on screens and documents
  • May require compliance with OSHA Respirator Requirements, including medical evaluations and fit-testing
  • May require use of a personal vehicle for business purposes (with mileage reimbursement)
  • Direct contact with patients and medical equipment, with potential exposure to infectious agents
  • Ability to lift, transport, and maneuver medical equipment including oxygen tanks, concentrators, PAP devices, wheelchairs, hospital beds, and other supplies

Technical Proficiency
  • Proficient in email communication and internet research
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment (fax, copier, printer, phone, computer)
  • Understanding of the use and functionality of home medical equipment and supplies
