Healthcare Customer Service Representative - Intake Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for patients receiving specialized medical equipment and services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a healthcare environment, and excels at administrative and customer service responsibilities.

As an Intake Specialist, you will guide patients through the registration and intake process, verify insurance information, collect and maintain accurate records, and help ensure a smooth and positive patient experience from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service throughout the intake process.
  • Complete patient registration, verify demographic information, and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Collect, review, and process required documentation to ensure compliance with organizational and insurance requirements.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, deductibles, and co-insurance information.
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments as needed.
  • Review clinical documentation and payer requirements to determine qualification and compliance for equipment and services.
  • Accurately enter and maintain patient information within electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
  • Support workflow improvement initiatives through data review, process verification, and problem-solving efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of company services, products, and healthcare industry requirements.
QualificationsRequired
  • Strong customer service experience in a healthcare, medical office, administrative, or patient-facing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
