Job Description

A Davenport Iowa client is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Medicine Physician to join their dedicated team. As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will play a crucial role in providing prompt and effective care to patients with acute illnesses or injuries in the emergency department. You will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of medical conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have exceptional clinical skills, strong decision-making abilities, and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

Required Qualifications 

  • Graduated from an accredited medical school with a MD or DO degree
  • Current Iowa medical license
  • Completed an accredited residency program
  • Current DEA certificate with controlled substance prescriptive authority
  • Board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine or family practice with emergency medicine experience
  • Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients presenting in the emergency department with acute illnesses or injuries.
  • Perform rapid assessment and triage of patients, prioritizing cases based on severity and urgency.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations, review medical histories, and order appropriate diagnostic tests to formulate accurate diagnoses.
  • Interpret laboratory and imaging results, including X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and EKGs, to guide treatment decisions.
  • Stabilize and manage critically ill or injured patients, initiating resuscitative measures as necessary.
