Job description

Our network consists of 16 community-based hospitals, a long-term acute care facility, home health services, outpatient centers and thousands of physicians. This role is specific to the Palliative Care Department. The Palliative Care Chaplain is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on those with chronic illness as well as end of life.
Responsibilities:
  • The Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) is a full clinical member of the health care team and is considered the lead expert in Spiritual Care issues.
  • Provide services for the pastoral/spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff members.
  • Knowledgeable in theology, spirituality, and pastoral care.
  • The Palliative Care Chaplain is instrumental in assisting with spiritual care concerns and how this applies to complex medical decision making.
  • The Palliative Care Chaplain will round daily with an interdisciplinary team that consists of a physician, APRN, and Licensed Counselor.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Required Certification is NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains) or APC (Association of Professional Chaplains) or NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains).
  • Required Education is a Master's Degree from and Accredited University in Theology Related. 4 units, 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • Required - Ecclesiastical endorsement.

Board Certified required.
This position requires Level II screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, managed by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). More information can be found at https://info.flclearinghouse.com.
