Pegasus Landing of Chisholm Trails is an 88-bed Independent Living and Memory Care community located in Keene, TX offering a warm, welcoming environment where residents can maintain independence while receiving personalized care and support.

We are in search of a dynamic Health and Wellness Director (HWD) / Director of Nursing (DON) who is an integral member of the management team, contributing health care leadership and expertise to promote an environment of optimal living for residents. The Health & Wellness Director will plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of clinical services in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and guidelines to foster the highest degree of quality care. He/she will comply will all local, state, and federal regulations and focus on employee and resident safety.

As a Director of Nursing / Health & Wellness Director your responsibilities will involve Resident Care, Nursing Leadership and Regulatory Safety and Compliance including but not limited to:

Required Skills, Experiences and Competencies:

  • Leadership Excellence: Maintain, manage, and inspire a full team through recruiting, interviewing, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Resident-Centric Care: Perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate individualized care plans, and provide empathetic, personalized care.
  • Effective Collaboration: Liaise seamlessly with internal staff, third-party vendors, and medical professionals.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead staff meetings, manage service agreements, update physician order sheets, and assure compliance with healthcare protocols.
  • Continuous Oversight: Ensure proper medication management, complete timely audits, handle incident reporting, and conduct investigations.
  • Emergency Response: Assist community during emergencies.

Industry experience includes, but is not limited to:

  • Five years’ previous management experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to the delivery of geriatric services, complex medical conditions, multiple medical diagnoses, including preventive measures, rehabilitation, and promoting independence.
  • Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology, including education in the aging process, memory decline and related behavior management highly preferred.
  • Expertise in most up-to-date safety and infection control practices.
  • Experience building and leading effective nursing teams including hiring, training and development

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • LVN, LPN or Registered Nurse with a current license in good standing. RN preferred
  • Five to seven years’ experience in a senior care environment preferred.
