We are looking for a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager in the Electronic Systems (ES) sector's US Defense organization. The person is responsible for all aspects of Cyber Systems Engineering's performance in support of US Defense business areas, including the application of cybersecurity engineering processes, tools, talent acquisition, talent development, and program performance. You will be responsible for a small (20+) borderless organization, leading them through an underway digital transformation that embraces model-based engineering practices, DevSecOps, and agile engineering practices across the ES engineering organization.
Responsibilities include the following:
  • Identify and develop critical cybersecurity and engineering skills required to meet business objectives.
  • Attract and retain high-potential employees to support the business; resolve resource/staffing issues and develop employees.
  • Develop strategies for improving and optimizing organizational performance
  • Meet financial objectives (indirect expenses and labor utilization)
  • Develop and maintain measures related to performance, quality and affordability of cyber resilience solutions.
  • Develop and lead continuous improvement activities and ensure adoption within the organization.
  • Establish goals and standards of performance, staffing plans, and short/long-term strategic roadmaps/plans.
  • Understand industry trends and best practices to ensure BAE Systems develops and maintains the capabilities required to provide technical discriminators.
  • Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
  • This position is in support of programs and personnel predominately managed across our New Hampshire facilities. While the location listed in Merrimack, other New Hampshire and Massachusetts locations could be acceptable.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Strong understanding and deep experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques
  • Robust understanding of Zero Trust and how engineering teams can realize a Zero Trust Architecture
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including soft skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, supervisory experience, building teams, and building customer relationships
  • Demonstrated experience with strategy development and execution
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with higher level managers, functional managers, customers, industry partners, and teammates
  • CISSP certification (or equivalent) with an expectation of obtaining an ISSEP within 6 months of hire and maintaining an advanced cyber certification aligned with DoDM-8140.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Experience with customer/stakeholder communication, management, relationship building, and customer satisfaction
  • Understanding of Cybersecurity policies, DoD and/or Intelligence Community Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes and procedures
  • Understanding of software vulnerabilities, static and dynamic code scanners
  • Proficient in vulnerability assessments, control allocation and risk mitigation
  • Demonstrated experience with managing complex programs with competing/conflicting resource requirements
  • Strong proposal writing and review skills
  • Sound understanding of Lifecycle Management (LCM) Framework, LCM reviews and engineering processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with project planning and execution
  • Experience with offensive architecting, threat modeling and attack vector analysis
  • Experience with cloud and cross domain solutions
  • Additional cyber certifications (e.g., CCSP, CSSLP, OSCP,OSCE, etc)
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
