Job Summary:
The Screening Officer maintains security and safety of people and property at the site, identifying and escalating issues according to policies and procedures. This role emphasizes strong customer service, access control, loss prevention, incident response, observation, and reporting for safety and security incidents.

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate and escalate potential safety issues within the facility.
  • Identify security shortfalls and provide recommendations to enhance the security program.
  • Read and apply Screening Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor traffic flow through screening checkpoint(s).
  • Require data center personnel to undergo metal detection and/or wand searches for entry and exit from secure areas.
  • Perform handheld wand searches and walk-through metal detection searches.
  • Follow safe work practices and company policies related to job safety; notify supervisor of unsafe conditions.
  • Perform duties in an honest, ethical, and professional manner, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Special Requirements:

  • Able to work during daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Competencies:

  • Must meet licensing requirements for security officers as per local, county, and state regulations.
  • Must meet specific skills, certifications, and authorizations for assigned accounts.
  • Knowledge of security operations, fire inspection procedures, and various security and safety devices.
