Job description

Overview

Department: Medical Records

Schedule: Full-time - Days

Facility: Resurrection Medical Center

Location: Chicago, IL

Responsibilities

The Supervisor serves as the primary contact and representative for the Health Informatics department, next to the manager. Assists with accomplishing the goals for the Health Informatics department by demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the scope of services in the department while actively working with the Health Informatics coordinators on the same. Well versed with the EMR usage and workflow processes in the system that are within the scope of the day to day processes. Supervisor also conducts and oversees the planning and organization of clerical activities in the department while ensuring security and maintenance of the legal medical record. Effectively interacts with the team, peer and superiors in various other departments, physician's patients and their significant others while maintaining standards of professional service. Performs other duties including administrative and reporting requirements as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Minimum one year health information management lead or supervisory experience or two yearsexperience in an acute care health information management setting; required.2. Should have RHIT/RHIA or actively pursuing and acquire within one year of employment.3. Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation; required.4. Working knowledge of medical terminology; required.5. Demonstrated advanced ability to operate a computer, multiple software applications, and other office equipment as necessary required. 6. High School Diploma or equivalent required.7. Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field is preferred.8. Experience in EHR platforms and software required.9. Training in state Consent Law and HIPAA Privacy/Security; highly desired.10. Completion of a management or business course; preferred.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
