Job description

Position Title:ย ย Clinical Informaticistย 

Location:ย Chicago, ILย (Onsite 3-4 days per week will scale back as project progresses. On-site requirement will be heavy up front)

Clinical Informaticist

This position is part of the Clinical Informatics team, and works in close partnership with operations leaders, clinical leaders, and the Information Systems EMR team to coordinate successful implementation, system optimization, and improvements to the use of EMR. This position is expected to work at all facilities to support all projects related to the EMR.

Minimum Qualificationsย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Minimum 8 years prior experience in a clinical capacity including experience with EMR implementation and or design.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Flexibility in the work schedule is required, including the ability to work on-site in Chicago as needed and remotely when the situation allows.

Preferred Qualificationsย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Bachelorโ€™s Degree requiredย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Masterโ€™s degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Experience with Cerner EMR

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Minimum of 2 years direct experience in planning, managing, and implementing large-scale, complex clinical information systems experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilitiesย ย ย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Responsible for all aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the clinical information systems for clinical departments.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Analyzes current and future end-user department requirements, procedures, and workflow, in order to provide application solutions that support and improve organization, division, and/or department operations.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Collaborates with end-users to help define health care information problems and identifying solutions. Participates in facility wide process improvement teams related to clinical information systems.

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย In-depth knowledge of EHR systems (e.g.,ย Cerner,ย Epic), clinical decision support tools, healthcare information technology, and Systems Development Life Cycle.โ€ฏ

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio

Responsibilities & Typical Dutiesย ย ย ย ย ย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย The Clinical Informaticist may work all shifts, including first, second, and third, as well as weekends and holidays if periodically required.ย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย The role will allow remote work and on-site work with a variable scheduleย 

โ€ขย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  ย Be able to travel to occasionally travel to sites beyond the main campus.
