Director of Healthcare Data & Analytics
Overview
A growing healthcare organization is seeking a Director of Healthcare Data & Analytics to lead enterprise-wide data strategy, reporting, and informatics initiatives. This role will drive the evolution of a modern analytics ecosystem that supports clinical, financial, and operational performance while ensuring high standards of data governance and regulatory compliance.
This leader will play a key role in building a scalable data environment, enhancing reporting capabilities, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Governance
  • Establish and lead data governance practices, including data standards, stewardship, and KPI alignment
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency across enterprise reporting
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data definitions, reporting frameworks, and data cataloging practices
  • Partner with senior leadership to align analytics initiatives with organizational priorities
  • Build and mentor a high-performing analytics and informatics team
Data Architecture & Integration
  • Oversee the design and optimization of enterprise data platforms, including cloud-based data warehouse environments
  • Lead development of scalable data pipelines and transformation processes using modern ETL/ELT tools
  • Ensure seamless integration across clinical systems, financial platforms, and third-party applications
  • Maintain secure, compliant data access standards and system performance
Analytics & Reporting
  • Lead development of dashboards and reporting solutions that support clinical, operational, and financial insights
  • Standardize metrics, data models, and reporting methodologies
  • Automate recurring reporting for regulatory and internal stakeholders
  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful insights for executive leadership
  • Ensure accuracy and validation of externally reported data
Pharmacy & Specialty Program Informatics
  • Provide oversight of pharmacy-related data systems and reporting initiatives
  • Support data exchange processes, integrations, and reporting workflows related to pharmacy programs
  • Develop analytics to monitor utilization, performance, and revenue opportunities
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with applicable program requirements
  • Support audit readiness and operational transparency
Clinical Systems Optimization
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for EHR data structures and reporting capabilities
  • Partner with clinical and IT teams to improve documentation workflows and data capture
  • Lead enhancements, integrations, and testing efforts related to clinical applications
  • Identify and resolve data integrity or system issues through root cause analysis
Financial & Operational Analytics
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to develop reporting on revenue cycle, payer performance, and cost analysis
  • Support program evaluation, grant reporting, and service line performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and revenue capture
  • Deliver insights that support strategic planning and performance improvement
Collaboration & Enablement
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and operational stakeholders
  • Develop documentation for reporting logic, workflows, and data definitions
  • Provide training and support to end users on data tools and interpretation
  • Promote a data-driven culture across departments
Leadership Scope
  • Direct oversight of analytics and informatics resources

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in a relevant field (e.g., Health Informatics, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Analytics, or similar)
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, informatics, or data architecture within a healthcare environment
  • 3+ years of leadership or team management experience
  • Hands-on experience designing and managing enterprise reporting environments
Technical Expertise
  • Strong experience with modern data warehouse platforms (cloud-based preferred)
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline development
  • Experience working with healthcare systems such as EHR platforms and reporting tools
