What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Health Economics Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Health Economics Analyst, you need a solid background in economics, statistics, and public health, typically supported by a relevant degree such as economics, health economics, or a related field. Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, Stata, R) and familiarity with health data systems are essential. Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail help analysts interpret complex data and present actionable insights. These skills are crucial for generating accurate health economic evaluations that inform policy and business decisions in healthcare.

What does a Health Economics Analyst do?

A Health Economics Analyst evaluates healthcare data to assess the economic impact of health policies, treatments, and technologies. They use statistical and economic models to analyze costs, outcomes, and efficiency within healthcare systems. Their work helps inform decision-making for healthcare providers, policymakers, and insurers, ensuring resources are used effectively to improve patient care and manage expenses.

What are some common challenges Health Economics Analysts face when translating complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders?

Health Economics Analysts often encounter challenges in conveying intricate statistical findings and economic models to non-technical stakeholders, such as healthcare providers or policy makers. Striking a balance between technical accuracy and clear communication is crucial, as misinterpretation can affect crucial decisions on healthcare resource allocation or policy. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and using data visualization tools can help bridge these gaps, ensuring stakeholders understand the real-world implications of their analyses.

Job description

Health Economics Solutions Manager - Southeastern US
Health Economics Solutions Manager
Field-Based | Candidates should reside in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Miami or Tampa
As we continue to expand our Strategic Accounts & Health Economics (SAHE) function, we are adding a Health Economics Solutions Manager to help elevate the economic and clinical value of our wound care portfolio across health systems, IDNs, and GPO partners in the Southeastern US.
The Opportunity
The Health Economics Solutions Manager (HESM) serves as a strategic, customer-facing partner to hospitals and integrated delivery networks, engaging at both the facility and system level. This role blends health economics expertise, real-world evidence generation, and executive-level storytelling to help customers achieve measurable improvements in outcomes, quality metrics, and financial performance.
This is not an entry-level health economics role. We are seeking a professional with real-world healthcare experience who can collaborate cross-functionally, lead without authority, and credibly engage mid- to senior-level stakeholders (including C-suite and service line leadership).
Why This Role
  • Engage at the mid- to executive-level within leading healthcare systems
  • Be part of a growing, highly visible team expanding Mölnlycke's value-based impact
  • Influence care delivery beyond products-helping customers solve real, system-level problems
  • Work in a collaborative environment that values expertise, initiative, and partnership

What You'll Do
  • Partner with IDNs, health systems, GPOs, and National Accounts to deliver evidence-based economic and clinical value strategies
  • Translate clinical and operational challenges (e.g., pressure injury prevention, HAC reduction, value-based purchasing requirements) into data-driven solutions
  • Develop and deliver health economic tools such as budget impact models, ROI analyses, and total value scorecards
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Finance, and Strategic Accounts to support system-level value messaging and contracting discussions
  • Co-create real-world evidence with customers to validate outcomes and strengthen long-term partnerships
  • Serve as a health economics subject matter expert, contributing to customer presentations, thought leadership, RFP/RFI support, and educational initiatives
  • Represent Mölnlycke at key industry conferences and strategic customer engagements

What We're Looking For
We are open to diverse backgrounds, with a strong preference for candidates who bring real-world healthcare experience and have operated in complex, matrixed environments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, health policy, health administration, business, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in a customer-facing healthcare role within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare consulting, or related industry
  • Experience engaging hospital and system-level stakeholders on outcomes, economics, reimbursement, or quality initiatives
  • Strong understanding of value-based care frameworks, CMS regulations, and acute/post-acute healthcare environments
  • Ability to analyze healthcare data and translate it into clear, compelling value narratives
  • Comfortable leading through influence and collaborating across multiple internal teams

Strongly Preferred
  • Experience in wound care, surgical care, or patient safety initiatives
  • Background in health economics, market access, outcomes research, quality improvement, or healthcare consulting
  • Clinical background (e.g., nursing) with progression into leadership, quality, or system-level roles
  • Familiarity with IDN decision-making, value analysis committees, and hospital financial structures

Additional Details
  • Travel: Up to ~50% domestic travel
  • Location: Field-based; proximity to a major airport required
  • Work Style: Highly collaborative, fast-paced, and cross-functional

Compensation & Benefits:
Along with a competitive salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus & car reimbursement.
Final compensation will be determined based on location, experience, and internal equity, and aligned with local market ranges
Beyond competitive pay, Mölnlycke Health Care offers comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial well-being, and work-life harmony.
  • Medical, dental and vision plans are available from your first day of employment and provide extensive coverage through multiple options so you can find the right fit for you and your family.
  • Financial benefits include a robust 401(k) plan with company match, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, life insurance and both flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.
  • Molnlycke offers generous paid time off, paid parental leave, an Employee Assistance Program and lifestyle perks like discounted access to entertainment and travel.
