What Youโll Do
As a Medical Economist Senior, youโll play a key role in shaping healthcare operations and strategies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting fiscal and program analyses to support the Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Program.
- Analyzing costs, business operations, and financial controls to identify areas for improvement.
- Supporting provider network and reimbursement strategies.
- Identifying opportunities to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in healthcare systems.
- Performing cost-benefit analyses for new initiatives and evaluating cost containment opportunities.
- Analyzing trends by provider, geography, and service type.
- Managing large healthcare datasets and maintaining payment reconciliation systems.
- Developing payment recommendations and fiscal impact estimates.
- Preparing executive-level reports and presentations to inform decision-making.
What Weโre Looking For
Weโre seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
Education:
- Masterโs Degree preferred, OR
- Bachelorโs Degree with extensive related medical economics experience.
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of senior-level medical economic analysis.
- A minimum of two (2) years leading complex medical analysis projects.
- Proven experience with healthcare operations, claims analysis, and identifying billing trends.
- Familiarity with large healthcare databases; Medicaid experience is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and data mining software.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Schedule and Location
- Schedule: 8:30 AM โ 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Location: Secretaryโs Office, 625 Forster Street, Harrisburg, PA 17120.
