Job Summary:

As the Global Institutional Sales Strategist, the role will support the COO of Global Distribution in developing the infrastructure that supports Cohen & Steers' institution distribution efforts. The role focuses on establishing consistent processes, strengthening management systems, and improving data and analytical capabilities. The role will serve as a direct partner to the Heads of Institutional Distribution and the Head of Sub-Advisory. This individual will be responsible for supporting the needs of the robust infrastructure, business intelligence, and sales infrastructure that supports the continued growth of the Institutional business.

The role sits at the intersection of Institutional Sales, Consultant Relations, Client Service, Product Strategy, Marketing, Finance, CRM, and Technology. The Director will be responsible for translating business objectives into actionable initiatives, scalable processes, reporting tools, and targeted engagement strategies that improve effectiveness across the institutional client lifecycle. This includes supporting the development of sales management rigor, improving forecasting, pipeline discipline, and refining / developing segmentation.ย 

This position is ideal for a highly analytical, strategic, and collaborative professional who enjoys influencing outcomes across a global organization. Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Partner with Institutional Leadership to develop and execute strategic priorities across Institutional Sales, Consultant Relations, Sub-Advisory and Relationship Management.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to Institutional leadership and the COO of Global Distribution.
  • Support annual business planning, forecasting, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Develop frameworks to monitor key objectives, KPIs, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects that improve scalability, consistency, and effectiveness across institutional distribution teams.
  • Prepare business updates, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Lead development of institutional sales reporting, consultant activity reporting, pipeline analytics, and client engagement dashboards.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement, CRM, Finance, and Technology teams to define reporting requirements and business metrics.
  • Develop self-service reporting tools that provide actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting automation, and business intelligence capabilities and report best practices.
  • Analyze sales trends, consultant activity, client engagement, and market opportunity data to support decision-making.
  • Serve as a strategic partner for institutional CRM initiatives.
  • Support development of the Distribution Analytics Sales Hub which creates business intelligence combining internal data with improved external data to improve prospecting efforts.
  • Support leadership in their training and talent development strategy. ย 
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Strategy teams to identify priority institutional audiences, market opportunities, and consultant-driven themes.
  • Leverage market intelligence and third-party datasets to identify growth opportunities and support campaign development.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence resources and industry opportunity tracking.
  • Promote consistent adoption of tools, processes, and reporting resources across Institutional Distribution.
  • Measure initiative outcomes and recommend enhancements based on business results.

Minimum Requirements:ย 

  • 5-10 years of experience in asset management, institutional distribution, consultant relations, strategy, sales enablement, business intelligence, or related disciplines.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong understanding of institutional distribution channels, including pensions, foundations, endowments, healthcare, OCIOs, insurance, consultants, and intermediary platforms.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, business intelligence platforms, and data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication, project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Demonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectives.
  • Agrees to comply with the firm's hybrid work policy ("work from home policy," as aligned with the Company's employee handbook), which currently requires reporting to the Company's New York City office four (4) days per week, with one (1) remote workday permitted.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MBA, JD etc.).
  • Experience in asset management distribution strategy or COO-related functions.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Power BI, Broadridge, eVestment, Preqin and other institutional market intelligence platforms.
  • Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • CFA, CAIA, MBA, or equivalent industry credentials.
